Discover how easy it is to export thousands of issues in Jira Data Center and Server, in our step-by-step guide
From Jira 'Search for Issues' option, select the issues you want to export, to do this you can use your saved filters or perform a search from scratch, and make sure you add or remove the columns you need to include/exclude in the export. Then click on the Exporter app button and confirm the issues to be exported. Remember, with Exporter you can select thousands of issues to export at a time.
Once the export issues have been confirmed in Exporter, select the desired export format: Excel, PDF (where you can choose the size and orientation of the document), or CSV (you can choose the delimiter you want). Additionally, there is a fourth option with which you can link in bulk up to 300 issues to another existing issue in Jira by selecting the 'Link to issue' option.
In addition to being able to export the issue data existing in the columns selected in the first step, Exporter also allows you to include additionally for Excel, PDF, and CSV formats, extra content such as attachments (to download them from a separate folder), comments and transitions (only for Excel and PDF formats). In the case of the "Link to issue" option, the extra content is not available.
We have already reached the last step, Exporter shows here a summary so that you can make sure that the export is OK, if so you just only need to click the "Generate file" button to start the export, . The duration of which will depend on the number of issues selected and the extra content chosen. Once the generation of the file is finished, it only remains to save it in the desired folder. Voila!. The file generation does not apply if you have chosen the "Link to issue" option in Step 2.
